After uninstalling the Norton Internet Security 2009 I could breathe again. My PC went back to its original Jumpy self. I am now going to replace the Norton software with Kaspersky, test him out, and then if it fails, good old Free AVG antivirus will have to do. Used AVG on all my machines so far, and its the best software available, that does NOT slow your PC down, and keeps it VERY safe for FREE!
Anyways this is the response I sent to Norton after uninstalling their product and choosing to fill out a customer survey.
The question was: What would have influenced you to not uninstall your Norton product?
And here’s my answer:
“nothing really. my pc has slowed down so much after the install and updates, that i literally could not type in notepad. had to wait a couple of seconds for the letters to show up after pressing the button. I know im using a DELL inspiron 4100 with original specs, so its not a speed demon, but such a significant loss in speed, responsiveness, just everything really. As soon as I uninstalled the Norton Internet Security 2009, thank GOD everything went back to normal… Not a fan of the product…”
Even with an exiting customer they are always trying to save a sale. Trying to get in my head and get info about what would influence me? That;s smart marketing strategy. Definitely effective.
After reading the question first time, I assumed it meant : “What have influenced you to uninstall Norton?” So I started writing an answer to that question. Then I read it again, and realized I messed up reading the question, so I started to really think about what would or could influence me to give Norton another try, but SLOW system is really something you can’t ignore. I mean even if the software was given to me for free, if I could not use the PC that software was on, what’s the use anyways?
Anyone has any thoughts about this? Would you accept a FREE product like Antivirus, even though you could not really use it on your PC?
Some people would probably take the software, and use it on a different PC, which is always an option too.
For me however multiple BAD Norton experiences, have made me decide: I will never use Norton Software ever again, on any PC’s that I own, and I will post this review everywhere, so people can make an educated decision, before they spend money on a software that will KILL their PC…
